Patient Search When Adding New Encounter Doesn't Finish with Complete Search Terms

The patient search when adding a new encounter doesn't finish with complete search terms. It appears the patient search triggers before the user finishes typing, and doesn't update the search results as they continue typing. This leads for a long list for the user to choose from, when they have given additional information to narrow the results. See the attached screen-shot.
