      Description

The autocomplete widget looses its values if an error occurs (like no provider, or no location, or a missing required field). The text in the autocomplete field turns black. When the error (like no provider) is corrected, and the form is saved, the contents of the autocomplete fields are not saved (unless they were re-entered), and there is no indication that the data wasn't saved. When you view the form again, what you entered isn't there. The exception to the rule is if the autocomplete field is a required field, it will not let you submit the form until you enter the autocomplete field again.
